While very technical, the question on how to couple livestock production to the agricultural area will most likely become even more significant within the coming years. Adjustable legal definitions that allow the integration of environmental criteria and help to differentiate more extensive and sustainable agriculture from industrial farming may not be the most exciting policy approach, but it can nevertheless be effective.
