The diverse, flexible and harmonic mix of different policy instruments as well as the explicit links to co-benefits with other policy objectives make the Danish approach a good example. However, Danish agriculture still is very intensive, albeit efficient. Therefore, while the technical aspects can be partially or fully applied in other countries, the quotas and nitrogen levels permitted should be questioned against the respective national context (also with respect to biodiversity).
