In order to tackle its rising energy poverty, the city of Cornellà de Llobregat reframed its traditional charity run into a “Run for energy”, to collect funds for energy audits in vulnerable households. The audits involved individual energy diagnosis and training, billing optimisation and installation of low-consumption materials. The consumption of the households audited is done by the city’s Energy Efficiency Office to determine the effectiveness of the measures in decreasing energy bills and consumption.
